Job Description

Up front project functional design specification documentation may be required together with site reports and system design architectures. Our clients use SCADA software combined with various PLC’s, therefore a good understanding in PLC’s and general automation software in a plant environment is key.

Opensofts’ projects concentrate largely on software automation systems such as SCADA and plant historian and reporting solutions. Our projects are taking advantage of being built of virtualised platforms, whilst knowledge of virtualisation is not required an understanding of this technology would be useful.

However, to implement these projects PLC changes are often required as is the development of additional PLC software code and installation of hardware.

Providing a key role within the company the successful person will have the opportunity to progress expanding their existing software knowledge in delivering Opensofts’ projects and support services.

Responsibilities

  • Development of SCADA applications, scripting and testing
  • Develop SCADA interfaces to third party applications and databases
  • To develop and fully test communications interfaces to PLC’s
  • Develop documentation including functional design specifications
  • Carry out and develop reports for Site Audits
  • Site visits to our clients sites for systems commissioning and support tasks
  • To undertake support tasks at end user sites
  • PLC testing and site based assistance in troubleshooting
  • Project implementation & commissioning

  • Siemens S7 PLCs, HMI – S7-300 & S7-400 PLC Training using Simatic Manager Software; S7-1200 & S7-1500 PLC Training using TIA Portal Software; HMI Training using WinCC Flex Software; HMI Training using TIA Portal Software.
  • Siemens WinCC SCADA – Training using WinCC Standard SCADA Software; SCADA Training using TIA Portal Software (WinCC Advanced & WinCC Professional).
  • Rockwell / Allen Bradley PLCs, HMI & SCADA Training – SLC500 using RS Logix 500 Software; Micro Logix  and Control Logix using RS Logix 5000/ Studio 5000 Software; HMI Training using FactoryTalk View; SCADA Training using FactoryTalk View Site Edition.
  • The ability to deliver our Drives courses and PLC Fundamentals Course and introduction to digital electronics. Full training will be provided.
  • Continuous improvement and development of training course material.
  • Uploading all documentation, technical information, PLC backups and VMs onto company system.
  • Liaising with Customers on their training requirements and validating training material.
  • Facilitating short courses (3-5 Days) at Opensoft Systems Office and on Customers sites (various locations across the UK).

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Siemens S7 300 – 400 PLC, using Simatic Manager Software together with S7-1200 & S7-1500 PLC using TIA Portal Software.
  • WinCC Flexible HMI code development & some commissioning experience.
  • Experience in Communication networks establishment DH+, MPI, Profibus, Ethernet, OPC Servers.
  • Experience in any of SCADA systems WinCC 6.2, 7.0, 7.2, iFix, Cimplicity SCADA, RSView / FactoryTalk.
  • Experience in any other automation platforms SLC series of Rockwell PLCs, Mitsubishi Q Series, GE 90, 30 RXSi, Omron series controllers.

Job Description

To provide data cleansing & administrative support to our sales office. You will be working on our company sales database cleansing and purging data in addition to calling organisations and ascertaining correct contacts for specific departments and adding these to the database. You will also be providing support to our marketing function by running mailshots from the sales database.

Responsibilities

  1. Updating contact information within the companies’ sales database.
  2. Contacting organisations to ascertain responsible contacts
  3. Running mail shots to specific groups of clients.
  4. Answering incoming calls to the sales office.
