1. B2B lead generation calls

We are looking for Business Development Executives to assist in the development of business opportunities. Successful applicants will be making volumes of B2B calls and be expected to pre-qualify, ask questions and build rapport, and set further call appointments for our Senior Sales Engineers.

Job Description

Up front project functional design specification documentation may be required together with site reports and system design architectures. Our clients use SCADA software combined with various PLC’s, therefore a good understanding in PLC’s and general automation software in a plant environment is key.

Opensofts’ projects concentrate largely on software automation systems such as SCADA and plant historian and reporting solutions. Our projects are taking advantage of being built of virtualised platforms, whilst knowledge of virtualisation is not required an understanding of this technology would be useful.

However, to implement these projects PLC changes are often required as is the development of additional PLC software code and installation of hardware.

Providing a key role within the company the successful person will have the opportunity to progress expanding their existing software knowledge in delivering Opensofts’ projects and support services.


  • Development of SCADA applications, scripting and testing
  • Develop SCADA interfaces to third party applications and databases
  • To develop and fully test communications interfaces to PLC’s
  • Develop documentation including functional design specifications
  • Carry out and develop reports for Site Audits
  • Site visits to our clients sites for systems commissioning and support tasks
  • To undertake support tasks at end user sites
  • PLC testing and site based assistance in troubleshooting
  • Project implementation & commissioning

SCADA It is essential to have experience with HMI’s (Human Machine Interfaces), specifically SCADA (Supervisor Control & Data Acquisition) software systems. To have developed applications from inception through to their commissioning. Required
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) An understanding of PLC systems and their function with the ability to interpret ladder logic and make minor changes code changes. Required
Databases & Excel Experience of writing data from a plant device to a database SQL Server. Expertise required in data manipulation and reporting using Excel. Required
Functional Design Specification & Documentation development Functional Design Specifications are a key part of our projects and usually commence following an initial site visit and meeting with the client. To develop a clear specification in line with our customers requirements is an important part of the role. Desirable
Networking Experience of working within a Microsoft networking environment. Good understanding of IP protocols, hub routers and switches. Required
Visual Basic / ASP.Net A working knowledge of Visual Basic and or ASP.Net or similar programming language. Desirable
