Course Outline
This course introduces the Allen Bradley product family. A system overview of the Allen Bradley PLC5 PLCs includes hardware and software components plus system configuration issues.
The course concentrates on the PLC5, program structures, and instruction set basics, and troubleshooting. RSLogix 2.0 software diagnostic tools and programming instructions are introduced in the course to guide the delegate through the management of a realistic application.
Course Objectives
The course consists of instructor-led tuition and discussions which focuses heavily on examples from the delegates own applications, backed up by practical hands-on sessions. Demonstration exercises are included and allow delegates to practice tasks such as testing, debugging and fault finding using diagnostic tools.
The Three-Day Maintenance Training Course is designed to teach the functionality of the Allen Bradley PLC5 PLC technology, giving a solid understanding of the PLC’s capabilities and benefits. The delegate is introduced to specific terminology, series hardware and software and shown how to use PC based programming tools. On completing this course, delegates will be able to configure an Allen Bradley PLC5 PLC and have the capability to diagnose problems and fault find.
Brief Description
- Identify the components and performance characteristics of the Allen Bradley PLC5 PLC.
- Install a PLC system, including the communication cabling and wiring of I/O.
- Operate the Allen Bradley RSLogix 2.0 software to make it perform certain tasks.
- Perform system diagnostics when a problem occurs.
- Debug hardware problems.
- Document, test, and troubleshoot an application program.
- Replace Allen Bradley PLC5 PLC hardware and modules when a fault occurs.
- Understand basic instruction set and be able to make minor modifications to software.
- Backup and restore a PLC program when required.
- Utilise binary operations, timers, counters, comparators, and arithmetic operations for modifications.
