Early this year, four of our engineers attended a Siemens PLC training at Opensoft Systems training facility. Their pre-sales team were very helpful, and there was no shortage on information about their training, pricing, and process.
I think Opensoft Systems delivered training that was good value for money, and I would be happy to use them again.

I am pleased with how this project has progressed. From start to finish the objectives were well defined and the documentation supporting our project has been first class.
A number of long-standing communications issues on our network caused some problems along the way, however, these were handled expertly as encountered by the Opensoft team and the project brought to a successful conclusion.
Thank you to all involved with this project”

“Opensoft Systems were chosen to upgrade the existing Weighbridge System and the Filling Station HMI’s replacing both the obsolete hardware and software and integrating the Weighbridge System and Quality Facility into a single system.
The new Driver Console itself was also networked via Ethernet to the Tanker Filling System which was integrated with the gas analysers from the Weighbridge. All the original Filling Station HMI’s were upgraded to the latest models and connected via Profibus to the Control Room Systems and the sites Data Historian.
Opensoft Systems have undertaken a number of projects for the business now and have always delivered our projects in a well-executed manner. Through Opensoft’s prior due diligence these upfront risks were removed by analysing the current system. Our new system was delivered on time and the handover and training of our plant personnel went smoothly. Thank you to all involved.”

A new facility was due to be constructed so our team needed to be sufficiently skilled with Siemens S7 PLC maintenance, ready to hit the ground running. Opensoft have a proven track record with other power stations so we were confident in their abilities.
The courses we chose started from the fundamentals of PLC’s through to S7 300’s and 400’s. We were able to split the courses into four and manage them round our schedule. The tutor was brilliant. A really nice chap who evidently knew his stuff.
In future we will certainly bear Opensoft in mind for further engineering work and commissioning.”

“I would just like to express my thanks to your Engineering Support Team as you have helped us recently. Owing to an erroneous update we experienced a failure of our iHistorian data historian. As you are aware the historian is used as a storage centre for our furnace data so is of critical importance to us.
The result being that the historian required a rebuild and the historical data restoring back to our VM Servers. The response from your support team has been first class, the best support I have experienced. From start to finish the rebuild took only two days which is nothing short of phenomenal.
I would have no hesitation in recommending your Support Services to others. Many thanks to all involved.”
“H+H UK Ltd are new customers of Opensoft Systems. We have three Aircrete block factories, one based in Kent and two in Yorkshire. It was the Pollington factory where the training took place.
We used Opensoft Systems to provide and deliver a training course on ‘Basic Digital Electronics & Introduction to PLCs’ The course was very informative and all staff who attended found it useful, especially the mechanical technicians. Our feedback on the day was very positive as all participants enjoyed the course and thought the content was aimed at the right level for their skill set. The group on the course were a mixture, some new to this area, whilst others were more seasoned.Unanimously, though, the response was that everyone had gained from the course.
Whilst we don’t have the need to use Opensoft Systems regularly, we would have no concern recommending them, both as a company and the course content provided.”

“Our team of engineers required up-skilling on Allen Bradley PLCs, Comms & HMIs. We chose Opensoft Systems to deliver four training courses at their training facility in Knaresborough. Due to their flexible nature, we were able to breakdown the training into four manageable 2-day courses.
The courses focused on maintenance and configuration. It gave our engineers improved trouble shooting and diagnostic skills. This was done by using our own code, making it invaluable to bring back to the plant and implement in day to day tasks. Added to this, the tutors style and explanations were exceptional, making the course easy to digest.
Opensoft have been working with numerous Warburtons sites across the UK, delivering training and other solutions effectively. I can confidently recommend them as first-class training providers. ”

“We had two SCADA applications running our steam turbine. These were on old operating systems and starting to show signs of failure. We chose Opensoft to help us upgrade and replace these systems. They had carried out work at another EON site, so we already knew they provided excellent service.
Jake visited our site and detailed all our equipment for us. Opensoft then provided a Functional Design Spec which outlined our current system architecture and proposed what the new system architecture would be. This included detail of all the required hardware, software and work involved.
After stage one of the project the system failed, through no fault of Opensoft. We contacted them immediately and they were very quick to get on site to complete the project and get everything running again for us.
The project resulted in an improved, fully functioning SCADA, on up to date PCs. We now feel safe in knowing the risk of failure is greatly reduced.
With the level of professionalism Opensoft provided from start to fini
“We needed advice on what we could do, so Opensoft came out to see us very promptly the next day where they were able to outline the options available to us concisely.
In the end, we opted for a full upgrade, as this was the best solution presented to us.
Many thanks to Opensoft and the team for our new upgrades.
We have already identified further projects for Opensoft to assist with and look forward to our continued partnership.

“I originally approached Opensoft Systems as we were looking for a training partner to upskill engineers across our group and they were highly recommended to me by a colleague who had previously attended one of their courses.
The tutor was able to accurately cover the basics, right through to intermediate maintenance skill level, with a friendly and approachable manner.
One engineer commented that this was the most comprehensive and professional course they have ever taken. Due to the success, we will be working with Opensoft at our other sites nationwide for further training. ”

“The plant had experienced a number of ‘after the event occurrences’, where operational difficulties had been encountered which led to valuable production losses.
An Industrial Data Historian was installed to enable the real-time collection of all defined plant data and the data compression provided by the Historian enabled a higher volume of data to be logged over a conventional Relational Database. The data historian was used to stream ‘live’ performance data to a series of dashboards providing operations staff with a real-time view of their production environment.
Since implementing the system it has provided us with a real-time insight into the factories status at any point in time. This has enabled us to react quicker to downtime situations and has given us the ability to better understand faults to help drive improvements. The historian provides an extremely useful feature in giving us the ability to better analyse past faults and understand the root cause.”

“We approached Opensoft Systems to take a look at the control system within Titan Steel Wheels Paint Facility. They re-developed application using Wonderware – InTouch software and integrated it into the existing PLC 5 hardware. They upgraded the SCADA system to the latest version of Wonderware InTouch SCADA 2014 R2 – SP1 and deployed on a modern PC running a Windows 10 Operating System.
In updating the top end SCADA system and leaving the original PLC in place Opensoft Systems delivered and deployed a solution that was not only cost-effective but practical too. We are very happy with the recent project.”

“We recently chose Opensoft Systems Ltd to assist us with implementing a numbers enhancements across our plant control systems. Following the work on site, a two-day training session was set up to help with knowledge transfer. We wanted a bespoke course to cover not only our SCADA system but our on-site PLC’s at the same time to help us to better understand the interaction between them. Opensoft developed a two-day training course for us and used our own SCADA and PLC code as the basis for the training for added familiarisation.
Training was delivered away from the site at Opensofts Offices and Training Facility in Knaresborough.
Learned A Lot – Very Valuable – Brilliantly Delivered – Thanks.
M.B. scored the course at 10/10 for Course Content, Tutor and Facilities.”

“We commissioned Opensoft Systems to assist us with making adjustments to our InFeed PLC code to reflect physical movement of several conveyors at our Holme Hall Quarry site near Rotherham.
Upon visiting the quarry, Opensoft’s expertise highlighted the necessity to carry out a commenting exercise for our Siemen’s PLC code prior to any changes being made. As part of the commenting process, Opensoft included site visits to our quarry to review the PLC code and how it affects the physical processes within the plant. Code changes were then made to reflect the conveyor moves.
Their engineers were very knowledgeable and carried out the whole project in a punctual and professional manner. We used Opensoft as our preferred contractor due to previous experience of utilising their unique AVS software and look forward to working with them going forward.”
